Job Full Description We are seeking a dedicated Cherry Picker Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cherry pickers and other material handling equipment to efficiently pick, load, and unload products within a fast-paced distribution environment. Your expertise will ensure accurate inventory management, safe equipment operation, and smooth warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, familiarity with safety standards, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and materials handling.
Responsibilities - Operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment following safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Select and prepare products for shipment by accurately picking orders using barcode scanning systems.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, or storage areas while adhering to heavy lifting and manual handling standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems and conduct regular stock counts.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation; report any malfunctions promptly.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation, barcode scanning, and proper storage of goods.
- Follow OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layout and improve distribution efficiency.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by managing materials handling tasks efficiently and safely.
Requirements - Proven experience operating cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation, manual handling, and general warehouse safety.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling techniques, and heavy lifting protocols.
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or logistics coordination is advantageous.
- Valid certification for forklift or lift truck operation; additional certifications such as OSHA training are preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
